Street View on Google Maps: App to Explore Places from Android Phones


Google’s Google Map provides map based services and its satellite view shows high-resolution images for most of the urban areas all over the world. But Google doesn’t update images regularly. All images are more than 5 years old. Now Google has come with new application dubbed as Street View on Google Maps for android phones.

Street View on Google Maps is not standalone application. After installation of this app, users will be able to explore the world from ground level. Using this app, you can view popular landmarks, places, restaurants, natural wonders etc with virtual images. Currently, Street view is available in advance countries like U.S, U.K, Germany, France etc.

Street View app doesn’t contain any application and shortcuts. It is accessible from the default Google Maps installed on your smartphone. Tap on the Street View option after opening Google Maps and pick little orange man to navigate through the road by just dragging him in the direction where you want to go. You can also use tools like zoom in or out to resize the image.

This app works fine on Android phones having Android v2.1 or higher.

  • Open Google Maps on your device and go search for the particular location where you want to travel.
  • Now long press the map and then tap on Street View option.
  • Your street view for the particular location will be look like this depending on your search query.

How to Update Motorola Defy Plus with Stable ICS v4.0.4 Firmware


Earlier, Motorola had announced, Motorola Defy Plus will stuck on Android Gingerbread v2.3. Since then many of the Motorola Defy Plus users are looking for third party developers to launch Latest Android ICS v4.0 for their smartphone. Now the wait seems to be over, Defy owners can now upgrade to Android ICS v4.0 with Stable ICS v4.0.4 Firmware. Because, it is not an official update launch by Motorola so, you have to root your device first which will void warranty of your device. But all the rooting access will be revoked after updating the device with any official update. Before proceeding to installation process, read all its features first and then follow the pre-requisites.

How to Update Motorola Defy Plus with Stable ICS v4.0.4 Firmware
  • First of all, download Stable ICS v4.0.4 Package and GoogleApps in your computer.
  • Now connect your device with computer and move both the downloaded zip files in the root folder of your device.
  • After it, switch off your phone and enter in Recovery mode. To enter in Recovery Mode, Press and hold the Volume Down key and press Power button.
  • Now once you are in Recovery Mode, select Install Zip from SD CardàChoose Zip from SD Card and then select downloaded ICS package. Press Power button to confirm it.
  • Once device is updated successfully, now you have to select ++++Go Back++++ and then Reboot System Now. It will take longer time than the normal start up time to display home screen. If it doesn’t starts within 5 minutes then try it by re-inserting the battery.
Note:- If any problem occurs during the updating process then start the process by reinserting the battery in it.

  • Now connect your device with computer and move the downloaded package in the root folder of the SD Card and then switch off your Motorola device to get into Recovery Mode.
  • To enter in Recovery Mode, press both the Volume Keys simultaneously and holding these button press Power button. Now in Boot Mode section, select Recovery option from it.
  • Now if your device says Safe System is Disabled then Enable it by navigating Safe BootàToogle Sage System and then Yes. If it doesn’t show such message then skip it.
  • Once you are in Recovery Mode, Go BackàWipe Data Factory ResetàWipe Cache PartitionàMounts and StorageàFormat/Systemà++++Go Back++++ to choose AdvancedàWipe Dalvik Cacheà++++Go Back++++.
  • Once its done, select Install Zip from SD CardàChoose Zip from SD Card and then select moved Eclipse Package. Now it will take 5-10 minutes to complete the process.
  • On the successful completion of update, you will be again in Recovery Mode. Select ++++Go Back++++ and then Reboot System Now.
Note:- If any problem occurs during the updating process then start the process by reinserting the battery in it.

  • First of all, Download Odin, Rooting Tar File and Root MeZip Package on your computer and extract Odin package.
  • Now connect your device with computer and move Root Me Zip file in the root folder of the SD Card.
  • Now Disconnect your device and switch it off to enter in Recovery Mode.
  • To enter in Recovery Mode press both Volume Keys simultaneously and holding these keys press Power button.
  • Now in Recovery Mode select Install Zip From SD CardàChoose Zip From SD Card and then select Root Me Zip package that you have placed in SD Card in 2nd step.
  • Once its completed, select ++++Go Back++++ and then Reboot System Now.
  • Once the device starts then again switch it off to enter in Download Mode.
  • To enter in Download Mode, press Volume Down key + Centre key and holding these keys press Power button. A Green Robot will display on your Galaxy device indicating you have successfully entered in Download Mode.
  • Once you have entered in Download Mode, you have to press Volume Up button to confirm it.
  • Now open extracted Odin file in your computer first and then connect your device with computer. Within few seconds, ID: COM section will turn yellow indicating all the drives have been successfully installed on your computer and your device is ready to use now.          
  • Now click on PDA button and select Rooting Tar file. After it, click on Start button.
  • Now Odin will Start the rooting process. Once its done, you will see home screen on your device. After it, disconnect your device.

How to Root Galaxy S2 GT I1900 on Latest Android ICS v4.0.3 DXLP9 Firmware
  • First of all, Download DXLP9 Rooting Package and Odin into your computer.
  • Extract both the folders and open Odin in your computer.
  • Now turn off your phone and enter into Download Mode.
  • Press Volume Down Key + Centre button simultaneously and by holding both the keys press Power button. A Green Robot will display on your phone indicating you are successfully entered into Download Mode.
  • Now connect your phone with computer and ID: COM section will turn yellow in your opened Odin window, indicating all the drives are successfully installed on your computer and your device is ready to use.
  • Now click on PDA button and select CF-Root-SGS2_DX_SIN_LP9-v5.4-CWM5  from the extracted folder.
  • After selecting the file, click on Start button to start rooting process. Once its done, your device will restart.
  • Once your phone is restarted, disconnect it from computer and turn it off.
  • Now enter into Recovery Mode by pressing and holding both the Volume Keys together and press Power button simultaneously.
  • In Recovery Mode, select Wipe Data/Factory ResetàWipe Cache Partition and then Reboot System Now.
